Auction House Sniping: Finding Underpriced BINs

Sniping is the AH version of bazaar flipping, except the items are unique. Two of the "same" sword might be worth wildly different amounts because of enchants, reforges, or stars. That asymmetry is where the money is.

Why anything gets listed too cheap

Items end up underpriced for boring reasons:

  • The seller doesn't know what they have. Niche enchant combos confuse people.
  • They want quick coins and don't care about leaving some on the table.
  • A meta shift made the item more valuable, but their listing was sitting there from last month.
  • They mistyped the price. It happens more than you'd think.

How to actually do it

Pick a category and learn it cold

You can't recognize a deal in a category you don't understand. Pick one and stay there:

  • Armor — Necron, Storm, Goldor, Maxor. Know how stars and reforges move the price.
  • Weapons — Hyperion, Terminator, Juju. Specific enchant combos can be worth 10x the base sword.
  • Pets — Level 100 is worlds away from level 1. Pet items stack on top of that.
  • Accessories — Hegemony, Reaper Orb, the rare ones nobody knows the price of.

Use the filters

The Auction House tool lets you cut down the firehose:

  • Item type (focus where you actually know prices)
  • Rarity (legendary and mythic have the biggest flip potential)
  • BIN only (auctions are a different game)
  • Max price (stay in your budget)

Sanity check before you buy

Before you click:

  • What's the next cheapest listing for the same item?
  • Is the item actually moving, or has it sat for days?
  • Does the price gap make sense, or is something off about this specific copy?

Decide what to do with it

Not everything needs to be re-listed immediately:

  • Quick flip — relist 10–20% under the next cheapest. Fast turnover.
  • Hold — if the meta is heating up around the item, sit on it.
  • Use it — sometimes the best snipe is the gear upgrade you needed anyway, at half cost.

What's worth watching

Big targets

  • Hyperion parts — handles, blades, and complete swords
  • Maxed weapons listed under what they'd cost to build
  • Level 100 pets with a good pet item attached
  • Kuudra gear (Aurora, Terror, Crimson, Fervor)

Steady flippers

  • F7 and M7 drops
  • Ultimate enchant books (Soul Eater, One For All)
  • Reforge stones, especially when meta shifts

Mistakes that cost coins

  • Buying things you can't price. If you can't ballpark the value, skip.
  • Forgetting the AH listing fee eats into thin flips.
  • All-in on one item. Stay liquid so the next deal isn't out of reach.
  • Sniping at 3 AM. Fewer players means fewer mistakes to catch.

Speed matters more than you think

Good snipes are gone in seconds. To compete:

  • Keep Auctions open and refresh often
  • Know your prices before you log in, not while you're staring at a listing
  • Keep coins in your purse, not in the bank — every "go withdraw" is a missed snipe
  • Pick a lane and stay in it instead of trying to watch the whole AH

Open the Auction House, filter to BINs in your favorite category, and start watching. The pattern matching gets faster with reps.
